The goal of the Disaster Aid project is to strengthen disaster preparedness and response across South Africa and the broader African continent by equipping communities with accessible, life-saving tools. We aim to empower individuals with the ability to act quickly in times of crisis, connect volunteers and responders through a unified platform, and foster a reliable, community-based support network. At its core, Disaster Aid is about building resilience—making sure people are better prepared, informed, and supported when it matters most. This initiative is rooted in the belief that African challenges require African solutions, and through local innovation, collaboration, and compassion, we can create a safer, more connected future for all.
Trash2Treasure is an interactive recycling app that gamifies eco-action through real-world challenges, quizzes, and recycling activities. Users earn points, badges, and avatars while learning about sustainability. A built-in teacher dashboard allows educators to track class progress, assign missions, and encourage participation—making environmental education fun, measurable, and engaging for students and schools.

Our goal with Trash2Treasure is to foster a generation of environmentally conscious youth by making sustainability education engaging, practical, and rewarding. Through gamified challenges, avatar rewards, quizzes, and real-life eco-missions, we aim to build lifelong recycling habits and environmental responsibility. The integrated teacher dashboard empowers educators to track progress, assign green tasks, and embed climate action into everyday learning. We envision Trash2Treasure scaling across schools and communities in South Africa and beyond—bridging the gap between education and action while promoting circular economy values. Ultimately, we seek to inspire behavioural change and a cleaner, greener future driven by young leaders.
